Dear Business Owner –

I don’t need to tell you that selling your business is a going to be a major, if not a pivotal and life-changing decision. I too am a business owner and I understand that no matter what, the process of selling your business will be an emotional one. It may even be the culmination of your entire life’s work. Whether you’ve owned your business for a few years or a lifetime, selling it will be a huge undertaking. It can be intimidating, grueling and perhaps frightening. But, it can also be an exciting and rewarding process if you know what to do and what to expect. That’s why I’ve put together this guide for you.

I realize that no matter whom you turn to for advice, when you start discussing the possibility of selling your business it may be a tough conversation.  There is almost no way you can keep your feelings out of it and making major life decisions with emotion is almost never the best way. 

This guide contains what I believe are just some of the key things you should consider before selling your business.  It was designed to be relatively easy to digest and yet cover the areas I feel are the most important considerations you need to think about before you decide to sell your business.
